About
The prosthesis evolution had allowed people who lost an extremity to win back their normal life and live it with fewer limitations. The manipulative and perceptive abilities of upper-extremity prosthesis prescribe basic need to grasp a variety of objects and routinely tasks. This prototype is designed for below elbow amputees for restoring some of the functions of their residual limb. This myoelectric prosthesis with five fingers is specifically designed for grasping objects. It processes electromyographic (EMG) signals for controlling the actions. The primary goal is to design this prototype with low cost motor, microcontroller and light weight material body to facilitate its ergonomic utility. It is a closed loop system, which incorporates pressure sensors, thus providing feedback through the EMG stimulator.
